Sorry - I meant shatter as in to crack or burst - not in the sense of devastation or being upset. Of course it would be amazing to have this "self" view 'shattered'!
"Nobody knows how this entire mass of suffering originated." - that is what I'm curious about. How are we to know that it just won't start again in a while? Or is it guaranteed that after enlightenment we are free from it forever?
