Feb 23 at 6:49 comment added Suradoe Uchiha @AndriyVolkov my attention isnt drifting necessarily. What is happening is that I do not know what exactly to focus on. If I am reading a book, for example, am I supposed to focus on words? If that's so then I just read the words, I cannot comprehend them. If I focus on comprehension, I am unable to read. If my focus is to do imagine each word, I only imagine them, and cannot comprehend. It is a very weird experience to be mindful of what I am doing
Feb 3 at 15:21 comment added Andriy Volkov I'm sorry, reading about it is not going to be enough. You'll have to step out into the unknown and find a local Zen master.
Feb 3 at 12:12 comment added Kobamschitzo Thank you, I think this is the answer I was looking for. Can you give me any sources where I can find such stuff? I am familiar to Theravada but complete noob when it comes to Zen
Feb 3 at 8:11 comment added ChrisW I find the phrase also in e.g. an English-language translation of a Zen koan.
Feb 3 at 1:17 comment added Andriy Volkov It's a Zen concept, too. Have you met a traditional lineage Zen master?
Feb 3 at 0:30 comment added Sati There is no "true self". That's more of a new age concept.
