You more or less follow the same process from here on out. Just as you "let go" of your resistance in mind and body and dropped applied and sustain thought to allow in piti and enter the first jhana, eventually, you let go of piti on you way to the 3rd, then sukkha on the way to the fourth.
Sep 25, 2021 at 11:57 comment added asd123 Like Max mentioned in the comment above, I think you are missing what mindfulness means in the context. Mindfulness is particularly useful in entering jhana. For instance, on my way in, I maintain vigilance and note the arising of the hindrances. As you approach access concentration, however, piti starts to arise and, if you relax and let it in, it begins to suffuse the mind/body with energy. This greatly lessens the hold the hindrances have on you. From here until the first jhana, it's not so much a matter of noting mindfully (though the hindrances do still arise)....

Sep 25, 2021 at 10:19 comment added user8527 Downvoted. this is just a farce of commentarial & contemporary talking points and has little to do with Right Contentration and Jhana as they are explained in the Sutta and Abhidhamma. It's not a useless answer but it's rather poorly explaining a very narrow subset of what has to do with samadhi development.
Sep 25, 2021 at 9:07 comment added frankk downvoted your answer, you're not describing what happens to the sutta's definition of the jhana. You would not be able to explain what sato and samapajano are doing in third jhana.
