I did not understand the last part of this sentence: I was rather horrified by the experience of a friend who went on a retreat, as was he. Also what happened?

I still feel, as you say. that much of the movement in fact ignores or misinterprets the Buddhas teachings The complication, as you also say, is the variety of views taught under the same general heading.
