Rebirth is not a central teaching in Buddhism, nor is kamma. Instead, it's a teaching for lay-people. If a person is consummate in sila, his mind will be natural calmer. Then, with bhavana added it is easy to calm (samatha) the mind. As a result, the person experiences non-self & impermanence of the 5 aggregates, and what then is what is explained in anapanasati sutta in the 'Dhamma Section'. Dispassion happens since clinging is futile. | |
