Aug 30, 2019 at 11:06 comment added user11235 Avoiding, stepping back, is wise. Harming and fighting unbeloved or wrong (if even!) is feeding the wheel of kamma potencialy.
Aug 30, 2019 at 10:53 comment added ChrisW What's the different? Well, in practice, one would involve mass-murdering people; whereas the other would involve avoiding certain topics of conversation (or, I'm not sure, avoiding conversation with people who insist on posting certain types and topics of conversation).
Aug 30, 2019 at 6:34 comment added user11235 What's the different? No. Purely, and in regard of mindstates and "stupidy" simply the same. And if acting with such fraud under the robe or lable of Arahats, most downward directed for all involved and approving such.
Aug 30, 2019 at 6:15 comment added ChrisW "Ethnic cleansing" means literally killing people, or forcing them out of the country they live in, because of a factor they cannot control (i.e. their ethnicity). The other is saying that there are some are topics of conversation which the moderator (and perhaps the community) doesn't want to see/allow/discuss/moderate on their internet site. That's certainly a difference, isn't it, if not the difference?
Aug 30, 2019 at 6:02 comment added user11235 What's the different in "ethicl cleaning" here? Killing (taking ones existance) is not a light transcression, also to encourage others to such. A fool who approaches a fool (or strange views), or? It's all about identification-views.
Aug 30, 2019 at 5:44 comment added ChrisW Of views, such as "The Buddha was born in Sri Lanka." is surely the most harmless one. I agree that's not a topic I'd want to argue about. If it were true that it's "nationalism" ("aim at creating a nationalist, sectarian fundamentalism") I'm not sure that (i.e. nationalism) a good thing -- the really most extreme forms of nationalism have in the past involved "ethnic cleansing". There are suttas like AN 10.69 which identify certain topics as unfit topics of conversation.
Aug 30, 2019 at 5:22 comment added user11235 "even "extremist" and "hateful" posts", my person never saw such, but killing and censuring when pointing out faults and extrems a lot.
Aug 30, 2019 at 5:14 comment added user11235 Of course one greegy, nurishes from corruptions left overs, the plunder of communists, might fear to judge right. So how could a consumer ever speech rightly...
Aug 30, 2019 at 5:12 comment added user11235 Of views, such as "The Buddha was born in Sri Lanka." is surely the most harmless one. To kill one on such delieve is fatal evil.
Aug 30, 2019 at 5:09 comment added user11235 How would, when aware of fraud, join such a community at first place. The "issue" is the presentation of lies as cheep politic, like here. It's not about "I have a right". Why wishing to take over a gathering of fools?
