I could write a brief explanation, with reference to the Tripitaka, if you could give some details as to where (from which article) you extracted this. Is it from this book itsef (It's from the Abhidhamma Margaya ("Way of Abidhamma") by Ven. Rerukane Chandawimala Thero.) ??? what is the page #? With metta…..

Sep 2, 2018 at 15:49 | comment | added | user13135 | I am not putting this as an answer because it's not from the Tipitaka...but from my research of Comparative Religion, Physics, and also Buddhism, the best possible explanation for what Nibbana is, is that 'Consciousness conscious of itself is Nibbana'. But putting it in words is a wrong view and almost false, and that's where Buddha stands higher than all others, He refrained from verbalizing it, instead He gave a path to experience it. The best sutta reference is what Ilya gave. And that is why Buddha is wisest of them all.

Sep 2, 2018 at 9:10 | comment | added | PL_Pathum | i just ask this because related to @DheerajVerma question asked few hours ago, it seems knowledge about Nirvana is little confused.
